| Process |
Paint system where 2 components are mixed together to activate the chemical curing process. The mixed paint has a short pot life of perhaps 2 hours (variable). Can be site applied, but is weather dependent. |
| Stengths |
Site application possible. Good chemical resistance. Good temperature resistance to 120 C. (poor beyond that) Limited flexibility. |
| Weaknesses |
Normally requires a primer, and may require several coats to get the required thickness of coating, with between coat intervals of perhaps 5-6 hours. Low UV resistance means poor colour and gloss retention. Good hardness, abrasion and impact resistance. Long cure times. |
| Durability |
10 years |
| Cost |
£25 sqm including blast, prime and 2 coats |
